Richard Candor had four daughters by a common-law wife, Christobel. 1985 July
Richard marries Sharon, who gives birth to Shannon, in October. 1986
School authorities reported all five of Richards daughters had severe emotional problems. 1987 December
Sharon complains to SD Health and Social Services about Richard's sexual abuse.
Family sought counseling. 1988 May (6 months later)
San Diego County Health and Human Services petitions on behalf of girls under section 300, sudivision (d). All five girls say Richard abused them. 1988 June
Richard pleads nolo contrendre to all charges 1989 February
Sharon divorces Richard 1989 May
Richard's brings motion to vacate his plea. Motion denied. 1989 December (6 months later)
Court finds clear and convincing evidence of sexual child abuse, and awards sole legal and physical custody to wife. 1997 April
Stephany dies. (cause not mentioned) 1998 August
Daughters petition to have the juvenile records released and destroyed. Name of Stephany, now dead, is included. Guess who represents the daughters?
Richard. Richard Candor was admitted to practice law in 1994. Richard's law office is in San Diego, and is listed in Westlaw under the practice area of you guessed it...Family Law. 1999 April
Court grants petition to the remaining daughters, denied as to Stephany, and refuses to drop the names of surviving sisters from petition. Opinion filed 4/20/2000 The court strongly rebuked Candor for acting in a capacity to shield his behavior, at the expense of others, grounds for misconduct. No action regarding Richard Candor's behavior will be taken. California State Bar personnel said the victims must initiate an action, which since the victims are still being victimized, isn't likely to happen.
The above is the only place to find the earlier cite, as San Diego attorney, Richard Candor successfully petitioned the Appeals Court for the San Diego area, COURT OF APPEAL D033580, to DE-publish their earlier decision.
This means Candor's admitting to sexually molesting all five of his daughter's disappears, with the Court's blessings.
