Patti-Chavez-Fallon
This nightmare headed Family Court Services for years. Now in private practice, Chavez-Fallon remains at the top of our "Do Not Hire" list. Her bias, first documented in a San Diego Magazine article years ago, remains in place. We would however, recommend her for our worst enemy.
Stephen Doyne
Well, it's fair to say Doyne paid for his degree. Just not like most would suspect.
Susan Griffin
For years Griffin conned the court into believing she was a therapist working on her Ph.D. San Diego Magazine outed her as a fraud in 2002, and the State of California fined her for practicing therapy without a license. We wouldn't recommend using her "Supervised visitation" center, "Hannah's House" either.
Marilyn Marshall
Avoid at all costs. We were told by one mother she had threatened to make her life miserable, and did.
Too many phony therapists, such as Susan Griffin, Marc Gotbaum, and therapists that add "extra" qualifications as Doyne did. Thus the list of dubious distinctions, grows.
Unfortunately, as far as referrals go, the San Diego Psychological Association continues using people we wouldn't allow to babysit our cat. Thus we recommend people avoid using them professionally. These include:
all the people listed here as our belief is people are either part of the problem, or part of the solution. As this organization recommended Niel Ribner, they are definitely part of the problem.
We likewise recommend appealing any order to Real Solutions. For background, see San Diego Magazine's, expose on family law judge's, ""little shop of horrors."
After Susan Griffin was exposed she hired a PR firm and changed the name of her supervised visitation service to "Hannah's House." We feel sorry for the poor kids whose parents use that so called non-profit.
If visits are to be supervised, opt for the non-paid, non-professional ones, as the professional, paid 'monitors' are not background checked, and a judicial disclaimer, saying they are used at one's own risk, make doing so, idiotic.
Supervision should Only be ordered after neutral parties report evidence of child abuse that CPS can document. And yes, we realize CPS workers are lame. But until those who are in the system make the system work, it's all we have.
